The clients purchased a beautiful country property bisected by a river. They stressed their desire to maximize these views from all new interior and exterior spaces.

Key Design Features

To direct rooms toward the view, a single loaded hallway was designed to assure all major rooms were positioned to offer panoramic views of the river, mature plantings, and rock outcroppings that defined the natural beauty of the site. In addition, the plan of the house is hinged where the formal main body of the house meets the family wing. This angling of the house further directs rooms toward the views.

To help delineate public and private spaces within the home, the more public side of the house was designed with classic and symmetrical details, whereas the family wing of the house was designed with more relaxed details and materials.
To provide easy and varied access to the exterior, we designed French doors from most major rooms that lead out to the back porch. A level lawn and terrace are accessible from this long entertaining porch. The pool and spa terraces are conveniently accessible from the lower level game room and cabana bathroom.
